The Ryder Cup course, formerly the Palmer Course, now the South Course, is a real championship course with impeccable maintenance!
But like the National in Paris, the K-Club in the middle of the lanes is a bit monotonous, but still better than its French counterpart on the mainland! The last 4 lanes are really strong! Of course, the Parkland jewels cannot compete with the magnificent links courses on the Emerald Isle!
The K-Club is only number 4 in my Parkland ranking in Ireland!
My clear No. 1. Killarney Golf and Fishing Club “Killeen Course” No. 2 Adare Manor, No. 3 Mount Juliet, No. 4 The K-Club, No. Killarney Golf and Fishing Club “Mahony's Point”!

We played both courses in late May 2022 and were impressed. The North Course (Ryder Cup) is a typical parkland course with extremely exciting holes. The greens are surrounded by bunkers and/or water - this makes playing a real challenge. The course is well maintained: tees, fairways and greens!
The South Course is - if one may say so - an "inland links course" that is open, has few trees and a few water hazards. This means that the wind component comes into play more. It's a good preparatory course before heading to the real links courses by the sea. This course is also very well maintained: tees, fairways and greens! Congratulations!
