This golfing masterpiece was designed by the master of the sport, Jack Nicklaus. The winning golfer in history, Nicklaus planned every bend and tree, every fairway contour and green undulation. The surrounding vegetation is host to more than 100 species of native birds. Twelve beautiful lakes challenge golfer as they navigate their way through each hole. In those lakes swim a diversity of fish.

The course is a bit out of the way and you should organize transport in advance (we got there with 'Grab' without any problems, but not back). Well-maintained course, both fairways and greens are immaculate. Lots of food and toilet facilities along the way. Lots of water hazards. We were delighted. The attached hotel serves good food.

Played on March 8,2024, Mountain and Lake Course and on March 17,2024 Valley Course. The 27-hole course at the Springfield Resort is located north of Hua Hin, slightly inland. You first drive through a rather desolate area until you arrive at the resort there. It is about 13 km or a 20-minute drive to the sea. Overall, there are few and inconspicuous buildings on the edge of the fairways, so there is a lot of nature. Not only can you play golf at the resort, other sports are also offered. Of course there is an attractive restaurant (not used). At the entrance there is a neon sign telling you what the menu of the day or the month is. The green fee and caddy prices are also displayed here, which unfortunately cannot be found on the homepage. The current green fee is 3,500 baths (90 €). The caddy fee is 350 Bath and the cart costs 750 Bath, or 500 Barth for the 9-hole round. The clubhouse is modern and there are large locker rooms. The pro shop is well stocked. The employees in the pro shop were rather busy and not necessarily friendly, but this may have been due to the rush of guests. The caddies at the bag drop off and the two female caddy ladies who were assigned to us for the round were all the friendlier. Of course, after you've parked your car, you'll be picked up in a golf cart and driven to the entrance, even though it's only a few meters. The game was lively. Nevertheless, the two of us were able to start playing about 30 minutes before our actual start time. However, from hole 6 onwards there were waiting times at every hole, so that the playing time was ultimately over 4 hours. The course designed by Jack Niklaus is pleasant. You can also walk the course as there are relatively few differences in height. There are some water hazards, waste areas, doglegs and on the 9th of the Lake Course the island green in front of the clubhouse. The Valley Course is also dominated by water hazards with two large lakes that are basically surrounded by water. The greens were hard as concrete and correspondingly fast and mostly undulating. Putting is therefore a real challenge. The round rarely gets boring, although the big highlights are missing here too. It's nice to have a PAR 3 over water. The care condition was absolutely fine for the current extreme dryness. Some of the tees, especially on the PAR 3, were a bit worn. There are plenty of toilets and food stations during the round. Overall, the round in Springfield can be recommended.

Course played on February 5th, 2024 we were very disappointed! Layout and course conditions were acceptable. But the fact that 6 (in words, six) flights had to queue at hole 9 at the Hafewayhaus is simply not possible. The mandatory caddies would also be there to prevent this and ask the players to continue playing after 10 minutes at the latest. Our caddies were also very unfriendly that day and were more busy with each other.
