Punta Espada, is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course that has taken its place among the world’s foremost golf experiences. Almost half the holes play to or along the coastline. The 13th hole is a par 3 that requires the player to hit a 249 yard shot over water to a green surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. As the signature hole of the course, it is destined to be one of the most photographed.

This is a wonderfull layout, just a great Golf Course. The Caddies are helpfull and very friendly. The course is not easy to play, especially if the wind is to heavy. Expensive green fee, but once in a life time…..

We played the course for two on November 1st, 2022.
As previously mentioned, the tracks are spectacular, as they often run along the sea.
The fareways, green and bunker were also perfect that day.
But for 5* everything has to be right from my point of view. Then no jackhammer may run directly next to 4 tees. And that could last even longer with the construction activity around the plant.
The caddy that we were assigned that day should also not go unmentioned: could hardly speak English, only gave tips on the green. Thanks to technical aids, I don't need a caddy to keep the distance to the flag. And to the initial questions whether he z. B. recommend 1 or 2 clubs longer in a headwind, he just shrugged his shoulders. He gave my wife no information at all, except on the green. By the time we realized we were better off ignoring him, we were already 9 holes behind us. We were used to something better from Casa de Campo (Dye Fore / the Links / Teeth of the Dog) and Corales when it came to caddy!

Friendliest reception in the clubhouse and on the driving range. Teas, drinks and caddy included. All 18 holes always somehow by the sea or with a sea view. The most beautiful place I've played in my golf career. Absolutely worth the high green fee.
