Characteristics
Designed by the legendary Dr. Alister MacKenzie, Moortown Golf Club in Leeds is a historic heathland course founded in 1909. It achieved worldwide fame as the host of the first Ryder Cup on British soil in 1929. The layout offers a challenging mix of woodland and moorland, featuring the signature 10th hole, "Gibraltar," known for its sloping plateau green. The clubhouse, home to the MacKenzie Bar and Samuel Ryder Lounge, displays fascinating memorabilia and provides a relaxing atmosphere for golfers.
