Characteristics
Gifted to the town of Ellon by Sir James McDonald in 1927, this 18-hole parkland course offers a tranquil escape in the Aberdeenshire countryside. The layout winds through magnificent woodlands adorned with vibrant rhododendrons, where a meandering burn challenges golfers repeatedly on the front nine. The course is a haven for wildlife, including native red squirrels. The round concludes with a stern test at the 17th, known as "The Doctor," followed by the tricky 18th, aptly named "The Twister."
