The dissapointment of the year!!!

My advices :
- do not forget to be there 2 hours before your tee time. You will spend first hour for warming up, and the second hour to stay in crowd for playing. Tee TIMES? A bad joke...
- do not hesitate to rent a buggy : without it, you will not have ANY informations about the hole... no birdie card, no hole description to the beginning, like in the rest of the world (even in ROMANIA !)
- do not expect for cleaning your shoes, or clubs there.
- do not expect for a pitching green. Everybody are using a chipping green for everything. Even for putting. In the same time, I mean...
- do not forget to take an extra pencil. If you will lost it... they won't supply another one.
- do not even think to estimate when you will finish the game, because you won' t be able to know not even you will start it! Take a day off...
- do not take your photo camera with you. Is useless : the course is a urban one, therefore you will see only a few houses and a lot of stones... No views at all.
Of course : you can choose another course, in the neighbourhood. It will be more wise!!!

Flat parkland course, good to play for all handicaps

We played Maspalomas twice in January 2026. The course is flat, but especially with the frequent winds here, it definitely has its challenges. You're unlikely to lose balls, except perhaps in the water hazards. Like any other course in the Canary Islands in January, it's quite busy, with one foursome after another, a diverse crowd (many from the UK, but also a lot of Germans). We played with English, Norwegian, and Scottish golfers, all very relaxed – and mostly quite good players! Like Meloneras and Anfi Tauro, the course belongs to the Lopesan group, which is why the green fee is slightly cheaper if you stay at one of the Lopesan hotels (there are at least three here) and book through them.
Hole 17 was unfortunately extremely shortened during our visit because the tee boxes were being renovated, but otherwise we had a lot of fun at the course. Afterwards, the terrace is a lovely place to sit, and the food is good too, although we had to wait ages for ours. However, this was made up for by the free beer and some complimentary tapas.
It's also worth noting the cool temperatures when the sun is low in the sky; it gets quite chilly quickly, especially with wind.
We certainly had a good time here and will definitely come back!

When it's windy the place becomes difficult

Good pro shop, friendly reception, very good cappuccino.

Flat course that almost always goes straight.
Very good greens.

When the wind blows the course becomes long and heavy.
