Marsden Golf Club

Established in 1920, Marsden Golf Club offers a unique golfing experience situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Designed by the legendary Alister MacKenzie—the architect behind Augusta National—this course makes excellent use of its rugged Pennine setting. Although laid out as nine holes, it is played as an 18-hole round with varying tees that alter the angle and difficulty on the back nine. The undulating terrain provides spectacular views across the Wessenden Valley and incorporates natural moorland hazards. A standout feature is the signature 6th hole, a tricky par 3 requiring a shot over a tree towards a green guarded by an old roofless barn. Known for its warm Yorkshire hospitality, the club offers a challenging yet scenic test for golfers of all levels.
