with Lofoten LinksCharacteristics
Proximity to the ocean, the jagged Lofoten mountains and the ever shifting Arctic light make this more than just a round of golf. Few, if any, golf courses offer such a combination of golf and magnificent scenic surroundings. And now, you can even spend the night here! Golfing in the Midnight Sun - play 144 holes a day From mid May to early August you can play golf all day and all night. As the only golf course in the world, we offer 24 hour daylight for over two months of the year. You can play 144 holes in 24 hours - if you can manage to stay awake, that is!
Lofoten Golf Links has often been compared to well-known golf links in Scotland. The course is located on flat land by the open sea, facing the north. It is a demanding and challenging course where the sea is an integral part of 6 of the 9 holes. The difference is that our links are on the 68th parallel of northern latitude.

An amazing golf course - unique
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 20, 2022
Played twice in June 2022 including one round of midnight golf!
This is a unique course. It is by the ocean but not a links course in its true sence. Its has holes incluing the 2nd, a par 3 that has beach between tee and green but others of the inland holes are sculputured out of rock.
The views needless to say are stunning. We were lucky that on both occassions, the wind didnt blow and the sun shone. Not sure that this will always be the case!
As a golf challange, it is a fantasic course. 3 different tee positions for men should cater for all abilities. Some holes require a good deal of thought. We played early in the season for up here so the greens had been dressed but are still true and in July to Septemenr should be excellent.
It really makes a visit to the Lofoten Islands a must for golfers looking for a uninque golf challange. You can rent lodges to stay in and there is an excellent restauraunt, nearby.
Playing at midnight was surreal but great fun.
Play twice and you get a free thurd round. We are tempted!

Good but not excellent
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 26, 2025
Even taking into account the impressive landscape and the location above the Arctic Circle, this is not a 5-star course. The far more difficult maintenance of the fairways and greens has already been taken into account in this assessment, as has the fact that play is possible around the clock, for example in the midnight sun. Even if you ignore the barrack-like clubhouse, it still falls well short of the top courses in Ireland or Scotland. The first three holes are interesting, and then again the 14th to 18th. Otherwise, the course design is not particularly impressive. The course is definitely worth a visit, although the green fee is excessive if you only play once. The price is only reasonable if you play three rounds, where you can play the second round for half price and the third round for free. A little bonus: Strokesaver is included, and the trolleys are generally free.

Dream place Lofoten
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 9, 2024
Highlight of our golf and fishing holiday August 2024.
Well-maintained greens and fairways. Fantastically beautiful holes by the sea, with unique, different atmospheres depending on the time of day. The result on the scorecard is irrelevant.
A highlight for every golfer!
