Recognized as the world's northernmost links course and ranked among the global top 100, the Jeremy Turner design integrates the raw beauty of the Lofoten archipelago. The Norwegian Sea borders several holes, with natural sandy beaches acting as bunkers. In summer, the Midnight Sun allows for 24-hour play, while autumn rounds may end under the Northern Lights. An amazing golf course - unique
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 20, 2022
Played twice in June 2022 including one round of midnight golf!
This is a unique course. It is by the ocean but not a links course in its true sence. Its has holes incluing the 2nd, a par 3 that has beach between tee and green but others of the inland holes are sculputured out of rock.
The views needless to say are stunning. We were lucky that on both occassions, the wind didnt blow and the sun shone. Not sure that this will always be the case!
As a golf challange, it is a fantasic course. 3 different tee positions for men should cater for all abilities. Some holes require a good deal of thought. We played early in the season for up here so the greens had been dressed but are still true and in July to Septemenr should be excellent.
It really makes a visit to the Lofoten Islands a must for golfers looking for a uninque golf challange. You can rent lodges to stay in and there is an excellent restauraunt, nearby.
Playing at midnight was surreal but great fun.
Play twice and you get a free thurd round. We are tempted!

Is it something you have to play at least once in your life?
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 11, 2025
Admittedly, it was the highlight of our Sweden-Norway trip in our campervan. The campsite next door, with its white sandy beach, was perfect.
However, with a handicap of 48, this is probably a damper on my ambitions. The scenery is exceptional, with photogenic views at every hole. The long fairways clearly demonstrate to the average player that there's still plenty of room for improvement. This leads to more lost balls due to inaccurate play. Just a typical links course.
Nevertheless, I am satisfied that I have "made it through" here.
Conclusion: Anyone who has always wanted to visit the Lofoten Islands and possesses the necessary humility as a golfer should definitely play a round here.

Top European position
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 25, 2025
I played the course twice in July 2025 under extremely varied weather conditions. In rain and storms, it's really difficult to play and costs a lot of balls. In the midnight sun, it's an incomparable golfing experience. The course has rightly won numerous awards in Europe. Each hole has its own character, and the fun factor here is enormous. Of course, the greens aren't in perfect condition; but that's not to be expected in this location. On the other hand, the natural surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful and wild, which demands a lot from the golfers. Besides the famous signature hole (hole 2), several other holes are suitable for this title. My personal favorite is hole 16, a par 4 measuring 402 or 430 meters from the men's tees, which plays directly towards the sea. Overall, I think the value for money is completely acceptable; something special will cost a bit more. The simple clubhouse also fits in with the area and offers pretty much everything you really need. My only criticism: after injuring myself while hiking, I had to cancel my third round. I would have appreciated a little leniency here.
