La Galiana Golf

Carretera Alzira-Tabernes de la Valldigna CV50, km.11, E-46740 La Barraca de Aguas Vivas, Valencia, Spain

Characteristics

La Galiana Golf is a new COSTA BLANCA golf course with a 18 hole round, Par 72, 6,216-metres of white marks (professional) situated in the Barraca de Aguas Vivas between Valencia and Alicante.

La Galiana has been designed by the company Moon Masters that, in addition to the brothers Santi, Salva and Kiko Luna, has Felipe Rodríguez as the person directly responsible for the design.

The result is a course buried in a valley with wide and well defined fairways, with some spectacular views, in the middle of nature.

There are 6 teeing grounds in each hole for Professionals, Gentlemen and Ladies, with spacious greens flanked by strategically positioned sand bunkers or lakes (10 in the entire course), which will force us to be accurate with the strokes approaching the green.

The course has spacious tracks for buggies and you can drive on the fairways, observing the driving tees and surrounding areas of the green.

But it is not only the beautiful landscape that is important, together with the planting of over 5,000 indigenous species, the course has been built using the best means available, and an example is the modern irrigation system it has, the collection and reuse of rainwater using a sophisticated drainage system, which will allow keeping water consumption to a minimum.

We want La Galiana Golf to be a demanding golf course, and entertaining at the same time, as the design of each hole has been studied so that it is a constant challenge even for the most accomplished players and where each one with their handicap can enjoy a enjoyable day of golf. The layout of the greens and bunkers and the dozens of water obstacles distributed along the course, guarantee a fine contest, as they will test the player's skills, where they will be obliged to use their best repertoire of strokes.

Galiana Golf is the first golf course in the Valencian Community where you do not have to be a member to play, so that you can book your tee-off time any day and any time just phoning us. Furthermore, it is a course where we are going to look after everything that is important for the players, personalised attention, service, and special care in looking after the course: the condition of the fairways, green, driving tees, etc.

La Galiana is Pure Golf on all levels.

5 Star Mountains and Oranges

Visited La Galiana on a Wednesday in early March. As expected after reading the reviews, the course was magnificent! Great mountain views!

The course is definitely worth a visit. First and foremost the location is a great golf course. Not a resort or a tourist attraction like some courses in the area. The clubhouse is rather small and purely functional. However, lockerrooms and a cafe are available.

Our tee time was at 12:30. I would recommend not to tee up any later. Rather, morning tee times are preferrable because the sun will set behind the high mountains and create shadows on many holes.

On our way to the course, we managed to miss the main road in and the navigator showed us a "Monte Carlo" style back road entry with tight turns and narrow roads up the hill. However, the road was blocked and we could only reach the maintenance area. Luckily a friendly greenkeeper hopped on board and lead us to the right place. Therefore, try to find the La Galiana/Golf signs on the main road and follow them. At least Google Maps might lead you in the wrong place if you miss them.

+ Great layout and views
+ Challenging
+ Good value for the money
+ Friendly caddiemaster staff with very good language skills
+ Nice cafe at the clubhouse (however, not a full restaurant)
+ Easy online booking

- Greens where soft and "holed"
- Play was slow (5h even though it was a rather quiet day)

Best I have ever seen or played.

What a golf course! The most stunning layout I have ever seen. Tough but fair and tee positions to challenge all handicaps. Built on the side of mountains it provides spectacular views from the elevated tee positions on the majority of the holes. Will definitely be back. Sadly, pace of play is a big problem and needs to be managed. Eskimo Golf Society - London.

wow what a course

this is the 4th time we have played this course this year and it just gets better and more challenging every time, the views of the course are stunning, moving from hole to hole, the fairways and greens are very well maintained the staff helpful and polite even when out on the course and as for the 15 tee what a drive its a must to do be back again next year
