Characteristics
As the name already implies ("Küste" meaning "coast") the course is situated in immediate vicinity to the North Sea and offers varied holes, typical for the landscape. Five small pools call for a precise game. The fairways are generous and leave the constantly blowing wind to be underestimated for the most part. Instead it is the high rough or the rows of bushes on the sides that reveal the true degree of difficulty.

The clubhouse, pro shop, range, and putting green are all very close together, suggesting a relatively small golf club. We were all the more pleased that the pro shop and restaurant were open, albeit with a small bistro cart. The conditions we encountered were average at best. Aside from two or three very interesting holes, the fairways are relatively easy to navigate. In some places, the fairway of the neighboring hole comes into play for inexperienced golfers at the drive landing zone.

I can't confirm the older "average" reviews here. Maybe the place has been redesigned since then?! Very good condition of the fairways and greens, varied design and a super nice club employee made the club what it was for us. Only the somewhat limited gastronomy (times and offerings) stands in the way of full marks, but that could also have been a daytime perception. So I would recommend “going there even with a small detour”.
