Keilir Golf Course is a links course located only 15 minutes from Reykjavik away. The course is divided into two very different courses. The front 9 holes guide golfers through lava fields meanwhile the back 9 are much more links type, played on a small peninsula with spectacular views of Snaefellsjokull glacier, the Atlantic ocean and Hafnarfjordur town where the golf course is located. The golf course is considered by many golfers to be one of the best 18 hole golf course in the country.

There are 2 x 9 hole pitches, which were connected to one place. At the first 9 hole narrow fairways interrupted by jagged lava rocks, pfeilschnelle and rock hard greens which make it difficult to bring the ball to the hold. On the back Nine a kind of linkscourse with very tightly nested lanes, quite not as easy to play as the first impression and the courserating make believe. Here much slower greens. Wonderful clubhouse with terrace, today all tables were occupied. Altogether a worthwhile place which is somehow a mixture of Abama / Tenerife and Winston links is. Take your balls and if you are serious you will have to go for a match round!
