Characteristics
The Golf Club Hermitage is situated in one of the most beautiful bays of the island Elba. At the moment the course has a playing surface of about 10 sq. m. The tee-off of hole 1 islocated 16 m above sea level and is about 300 m away from the sea, while hole 6, the highest hole, is situated in an altitude of 60 m and is about 500 m away from the shore. In the even part of the parcourse two artificial lakes were created to collect the rain water.

Narrow and steep

If you're on vacation on Elba anyway, you can play a round here. The pro is super helpful and easy-going. On the driving range, you play with floating balls, as practice shots are hit into a large pond. That alone is worth a visit.
The 9-hole course is set on steep coastal terrain. There's a fair amount of elevation to overcome. The fairways are often very narrow and resemble semi-rough terrain. With a handicap of 20, I lost seven balls in one round. Balls were often lost off the fairway. The greens were very bumpy in many places. The price was very fair. The pro collects the money directly at the driving range. He's aware of the less-than-perfect condition of the course and offered a discount on the second visit.
