Also low Hcp players find it interesting to play.

Beautiful course in the middle of Hermanus. No major differences in elevation. Not too difficult to play, but some fairways are not so easy as they are quite narrow. Water comes into play on several holes. Club facilities are not the prettiest but OK. Staff very friendly.

Did the lanes 1-9 and 19-27 on Hermanus on 29.01.2019 played in the best weather. Also we expected more after the many good reviews. After all, what I had read in advance about the place, I'm a little disappointed. It is a really pretty parkland area with many beautiful, old, tall trees and great mountains in the background. Unfortunately, the view is disturbed again and again by the numerous, close to the place standing houses.
The trees also prove to be the biggest challenge in terms of technique - they like to get involved if you are not playing straight. Since the course is not overly long (6086m from YELLOW, 5757m from WEISS), but the fairways are quite narrow in some places, it is not always easy to take the forest out of the game. Water, however, is hardly a problem - the bunkers, however, already, the greens are sometimes well "guarded".
The putt surfaces themselves are heavily undulating, but unfortunately very slowly.
Annoying that on the tees, the grass was usually so high that you could hardly see the teas and therefore the height at the Aufteen was very poor.
Furthermore, we also had an EXTREMELY loud construction site on the course disturbed on the first round. They worked there with a kind of steam hammer on one of the rare water hazards (drainage construction or similar). The noise was deafening and has disturbed at least one third of the place disturbing. A note before check-in or even a green fee reduction would have been desirable... Fortunately, during our second round a few days later, the ram was out of service.
