Characteristics
Situated in the dramatic landscapes of South Iceland, Strandarvöllur (Golfklúbbur Hellu) offers a layout where the natural terrain dictated the design. This 18-hole, Par 70 course is renowned for its panoramic views of iconic volcanoes, including Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull. The layout demands accuracy, with the winding Strandarsíki stream and native shrubbery coming into play on several holes. Golfers must often contend with the breeze, adding a strategic element to the round. The facility features excellent grass practice areas and a charming clubhouse housed in a renovated historic school building.
