Characteristics
Idyllically situated in the heart of Mainfranken, this course is enveloped by the Main. The holes on the about 70 ha large area follow the course of the Main. The holes 1 to 9 are situated in the north-west of the district Mainsondheim, the holes 10 to 18 in the north-east. Not only the 650 sq. m large, multi-levelled greens but also the up to 2,5 m deep bunkers that demand precision. At the 17th hole there is an island green that has to be played across a 40 m wide pool.

Beautifully situated flat course. No tee times. We played 18 holes today. An e-caddy is advisable, however. Lots of limestone gravel paths. Lots of dust.
We took advantage of the 2 for 1 offer, after making a reservation by phone. We were in the clubhouse shortly before 9 a.m. The office opened at 9 a.m. sharp and we had the impression that the staff were not particularly happy that someone was already on the mat. The administrative process for the green fee and e-caddy was quick and easy. However, we noticed that the staff were not wearing uniforms or name tags. We had to get the e-caddy out of the hall ourselves and unplug the charging cable ourselves. In addition, the vehicle was not cleaned and the windows were dusty, but this did not detract from the enjoyment of the game. We are not familiar with this, but perhaps it is common there.
After the game we went to the clubhouse. Here too the service staff were in "civilian clothes", without uniforms and you can only guess who is staff or guest. Unfortunately our food was on the level of an "ASIA-Döner" and WARNING, the restaurant is "cash fan" and stubbornly refused to accept payment by credit card. Not accepting cards in the clubhouse of a golf club these days is completely unrealistic. This attitude reflects the ASIA-Döner impression. All you can say is, "either you move with the times or you move with the times".

This place was also on our list at the Campertour 2022, and after announcing it by phone and trying to reserve a start time, we drove there. It should be said that the starting times are not fixed there, but you "line up" and tee off. We were very kindly informed that a 9-hole tournament was taking place from noon on our game day and that we therefore had to have played the first 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It was also approved that you can park your camper on designated pitches and that it doesn't cost anything as a green fee player.
When we arrived, another WoMo driver handed us the key to the electricity box (there are two connections) and we parked, went for a walk and drank another Aperol on the cozy club terrace.
The following day we started our round at around 9 a.m., we were largely alone on the road. Lane 1 is a longer dogleg, but lane 2 shows what the course is capable of. The discount a little too far to the right, hops into the vegetables and was gone. The rough was already mentioned by the prescriber and one can only underline that it should be avoided at all costs, finding the ball again is usually impossible. We were also able to observe the pre-flight during a number of unsuccessful search operations. A slightly higher / wider semi-rough might help here, so that the balls don't disappear directly from the FE...
The paths between the lanes are quite long, topped by path green 9 to tee 10, leading to the other side of the clubhouse (quite a decent walk). The course is still interesting and varied (the second 9 are more successful), but the heat hit us hard. We didn't see a supply truck, so pack your drinks! On some tracks, the FW bunkers were marked as BiA, were not previously pointed out, but bothered less. Lanes 16 and 17 are probably the most exciting holes, with plenty of water involved. Course condition was basically okay, but the rough is just what it is...
Afterwards we only went to the gastro for a drink, because the onward journey to Würzburg was pending, so no evaluation of the same possible (the food looked more Asian).
Conclusion: interesting place, but still the weakest on our trip so far.

We played the course at the end of May as part of our "Austria Comeback 2021" trip (www. Die-golf-camper. De) We were a bit skeptical, as there are some negative things to be read in the Albrecht Golf Guide. The points of criticism mentioned are boring and loud. First positive impression next to the nice office: A couple of very nice parking spaces in the parking lot, and these are quiet and green near the Main. You can certainly make nice tours by bike. However, only golfers who play a round are allowed to stay overnight. There is also electricity for that. So definitely worth a night.
The course is largely flat, which is not surprising on the Main. The difficulties lurk (especially in summer) to the left and right of the fairways: the rough, which is sometimes as “deadly” as water. If you find the ball, it is often very difficult to get back on the fairway. But just finding it is a test. So: reduce the length, precision comes first. But since we are only mediocre golfers, it is not that easy either. So we never got bored! You can hear and see the Autobahn a couple of times on the first 9 (you are sometimes relatively close to the Main Bridge) and on the Back-Nine at 2 holes. But bother?? No, we were too enthusiastic about the green and nature for that, plus views down to the Main or to Franconian wine villages. Our conclusion: we will be back - then also to stay the night.
