Characteristics
This very demanding course is situated in the middle of the beautiful landscape of the Bergisches Land and offers the player unhoped-for views on the rural surrounding area. The first nine holes are hilly, the seond nine even. On the 18 holes there is an altitude difference of about 100 metres. Several greens have to be played blindly because of their sloping position. After the game the renovated castle set on a lake is at the disposal of the guests and serves as a nice clubhouse.

Played on September 19,2026. I started on the 10th hole. Holes 10-18 are fine parkland golf with some water hazards. From the 1st hole onwards, it's more like mountain goat golf, as you play up and around the hill behind the castle. Without course knowledge, you just sort of play straight ahead and hope to find your ball again somewhere despite the sometimes steep slopes. Personally, I found it rather challenging. The fairways and greens were in good condition despite the hot summer.
The restaurant is beautifully situated in the castle courtyard. Service in the restaurant and at reception is friendly and efficient.
Overall, I'd give it just under four stars.

The course was in good condition, and the fairways didn't seem to have suffered from the heat. The greens had been aerated, so it's impossible to comment on their normal condition.
