The Reischenhof had been on my list for a while. We played there on April 18,2026. Friendly welcome, beautiful facilities, from the clubhouse to the practice area and the restaurant. Then we played the C-round. Your pulse quickens as early as the second hole, when you have to play to the relatively small green from 146 meters, which is surrounded by water on three-quarters of its length. But if you think it gets easier after that, you'd be wrong. The course is consistently challenging. And while the condition of the course deserves five stars, and if I were a member, the layout would captivate me for months and years, on a first round as a guest, you're almost overwhelmed. Too many blind shots, too many hidden bunkers. Too much for all the senses. Where's the best place to play, where are the traps? You usually only realize it when you're already in them.
If you love a challenge, this is the place for you. And if you play golf so well that you have no trouble with the various techniques, then it's great too. But as soon as you're not playing your A-game, it becomes difficult and, in the long run, frustrating. Things weren't any better on the B course (our back nine).
Unfortunately, the food and drinks after the round weren't quite up to par either. Long wait times and a very mediocre cake prevented the overall impression from reaching the 5 stars that one could have awarded. For the average player, however, it's all a bit too much, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.

But on 18 holes there are more than 10 doglegs, some at 90° angles, many blind shots, secluded greens, and bunkers scattered across the fairways.

...very spacious facility, lots of space to use the driver - with the exception of four 90 degree doglegs, which are better played with a long iron or small blade to keep the balls - with sometimes decent distances from green to Tea.
Absolute peace and quiet here, in the middle of forest and cultivated land, on a slight hillside, we play golf. They are good, exciting and challenging golf holes, the rating says a lot, the progression from the A-Course to the B-Course to the C-Course with 3109,3167,3306 meters of back tees per 9 hole loop makes this clear. The terrain also means a lot more work; there are a number of greens, mostly higher up, awaiting the players.
To stay with the greens, they are awesome and deserve the grade excellent!!!
They mostly look harmless, have a lot of very fine breaks and are extremely fast and served us a lot of three putts. The dimensions are very different, from below average to huge, but also many rather narrow greens. Hitting them with the second blow is the greatest task...
You have to play here several times to have a chance of getting a good score - knowledge of the course is a big advantage - everyone had to dig into their pockets at least once...
The maintenance on this system is very good, the finishing touches are missing to be top.
The infrastructure is also very good, nice, courteous staff, with very good cuisine.
We have had this facility on our radar for a long time - we are grateful that all team members finally had the time to play here - we know Jakobsberg, which the designer also planned, has been ranked high up in the Top 100 List of Germany for many years.
The awarding of stars has led to a lot of discussion, five or just four. In direct comparison with the best courses in Baden-Württemberg and Jakobsberg, five stars is too good a grade.
