We were on vacation in the region and played a few courses. Unfortunately, we left Kronach quite frustrated. The welcome was very friendly, and for a Monday, it was also very quiet and relaxed. The course is beautifully situated with beautiful views and is physically demanding. However, at this time of year, the fairways were almost entirely high and overgrown with clover, which made finding the ball very difficult and frustrating. In addition, some of the greens were riddled with ruts, making a normal putt impossible. Overall, our golf experience in Kronach was not so enjoyable, and we would rather play one of the other courses twice than come back again—a shame.

Very friendly reception in the secretariat. You immediately felt welcome. Place beautifully located and quiet. A cart is strongly recommended for those with foot problems. Since we only played 14 holes due to time constraints, we had to skip the mountainous holes. When we're in the area again, we'll definitely play the course again. If you don't play straight, take a few more balls.
Motorhome drivers are allowed to stand for one night. In Kronach, 10km away, there is a city-owned RV site with good opportunities to explore the city.

I played the very scenic course for the first time on May 22nd, 2023. It is not only a demanding but also very varied course, which becomes clear in a few examples:
Hole 3 (a par 3): You can't see the flag from the tee. A par 5 with a length of 557m (hole 9), a par 4 with a length of 400m (hole 4), a par 3 with a length of over 200m (hole 13), the most difficult hole in Upper Franconia (hole 16) and the hole 18 m where the flag is 30 m higher than the tee. In addition, the high rough does not exactly make golfing easy. If you miss the fairway, you can safely save yourself the search for the ball.
The staff in the secretariat were very friendly and helpful. Since the greens were not in such good condition, the green fee was kindly reduced.
