I played the Golf Club Ingolstadt four times in 2021 and I agree that the course is not world class! BUT... the golf course / site is more like tidy and is always in top condition. The greens are obviously a bit old and do not have the modern layouts. But they are always very fast! Furthermore, every guest player, even if they play four times, receives a very high-quality tea gift and with the scorecard a rating request is pressed into your hand! I think that's also called marketing! When I read the reviews, the following always stands out: TOP care, great and friendly service and the guests feel very comfortable on "game day". I can only agree with that. There are certainly other places that deserve 5 stars, which are also better, but in my opinion they are 4 stars!

I only rate the space, not the beautiful clubhouse, the range that is too short, the friendly staff or the large number of parking spaces (as in another comment). The place is well maintained and mostly irrelevant and boring. The greens in particular are almost always flat with no major undulations and with very few breaks. Defending the greens is just as uninteresting. Flat bunkers, no depressions or hills. Challenging situations are in short supply. The terrain isn't much better. With the exception of the five, the fairways are perfectly flat with no movement whatsoever. Due to the bog soil they are very soft, a ground game is hardly possible. The layout of the holes offers little opportunity for strategic play or risk & reward situations from the tee. The exception is the nine, a driveable par4 with a well-placed fairway bunker and water to the left. Unfortunately, the green can hardly be surpassed in terms of insignificance and partially destroys the good approach.
