Difficult location with a great mountain panorama

We played the course in mid-September 2026 after a tournament. Clearly, the criticism of the greens had been taken to heart. Despite some damage, they were very fast (felt like a Stimp 11) and also quite undulating in places.
Unfortunately, the hot summer and crows have taken a heavy toll on the course, leaving it in a below-average condition. Nevertheless, in our opinion, it's still perfectly playable.
Regarding the layout, it's safe to assume that a golf course would hardly be designed like this today. To put it positively: unusual. The individual holes have already been described in detail elsewhere. On some tee boxes, it's difficult to decide on a strategy and target on a first visit. Some holes appear relatively easy from the tee, but then poorly placed drives through trees, barns, and other obstacles block the approach to the green. On the other hand, there are some shorter holes that offer further opportunities. The grass/rough around the greens is sometimes dense, making the short game more difficult. The slope rating of over 130 is appropriate.
We were impressed by the very friendly lady in the office, the possibility of purchasing a birdie book, the well-padded, fast carts, and also the modern signage of the tees according to total distance (e.g. 55 for approx. 5,500 m) instead of by color.
Golfamore is recommended for half a round even in suboptimal course conditions.

A little up, a little down, a little down. Taking a cart is no problem – especially in summer. But it's fine to walk if you have a basic level of fitness.
The front nine is short and technical, while the back nine is more challenging: uneven, exciting, and at times a bit confusing. Goldegg is no course for mountain goats—but also not for those who are comfortable.

We played there today, on a beautiful sunny day. It was relatively crowded for a Monday in the off-season, but it was still manageable.
About the course: Holes 1-8 lack any real highlights, hole 1 is about 60 meters down, hole 2 is 60 meters up, holes 3,4, 5, and 6 are nice to play, hole 7 has a horribly torn green, and hole 8 is long and beautiful...
But then, 9th is impossible around the corner over a huge hill, blindly between pylons with power lines, now you have to climb the aforementioned hill with strength and stamina and then tee off blindly again on the 10th, then 50 meters down the hill and a short green (whoever thinks of something like that should be condemned to repeated 3-putts). The 11th is split in two in the middle and you should try your best to stay on the top left... (on the right the ball bounces almost mercilessly to the right off the fairway into the bushes) 12 and 13 are terrific, 14 is tricky, 15 and 16 OK, 17 is long and at the end 20m down over a stream, 20m up and a tricky green.
18 (he has to go through this hollow alley) with courage through the middle and then “just” up the hill.
The scenery at times makes you think you're in Canada, the layout is completely different, and at €95, it's too expensive. We didn't like the endless standing on the slope, going up and down, around corners, and hitting the ball blindly.
The food was so-so, the golfers were out and from 2 p.m. onwards there was only pizza or other ready-made food.
Not again, there are much better options! (Schladming, Radstadt, etc.)
