Based on the reviews, we visited this golf course with our campervan. The course and its practice facilities made a decent overall impression, although we didn't use them. The office staff were friendly and helpful. Getting a tee time for the next day wasn't a problem as the course wasn't crowded. The initial impression of a well-maintained course was confirmed the following day: tees, fairways, and greens were all in good condition. Layout: It's difficult to write a review of the individual holes because they are so interconnected that they create a boring up-and-down pattern, and you hardly remember any of the holes by the end of the round. Oh yes, the omnipresent noise from the nearby highway is memorable. So is the view of Wartburg Castle, but it's very far away. The Italian-run restaurant is worth a visit. As already mentioned, there is criticism of the campervan pitches: about as cozy as a highway rest stop, opposite an industrial plant, €15 for one night (full-priced golfers play for free, no golfing romance). Oesigolfer is right. We preferred the open countryside. Thanks to Golfamore, I only paid half the green fee. That's fine. What's concerning are the very good 5-star reviews from people who only submitted one review specifically for this course…

We played the course three times during a short vacation. The course was still in excellent condition for the end of October. The fairways are varied and offer a challenge for every skill level. The fairways are very open, and ball losses are very rare. The greens were well-maintained and challenging. The signage at all tees provides information about the fairways, as well as historical and tourist information. Special thanks to the reception desk for the warm welcome. Guests are offered a coffee upon arrival. We'd go again!
