Alpine golf with a twist!

Had the pleasure to play Bludenz-Braz with three members and enjoyed very much the experience. If you are playing this course for the first time I very much recommend joining members as club selection and targets can be very challenging.
What makes Bludenz-Braz special is the astute routing of the course on a very challenging site. Despite the steep terrain the course is very fair and good shots rewarded.
The front 9 is very much uphill and after hole 10 mostly downhill. Fantastic half-way house at the peak of the course.
A note of caution: walking the course (recommended) is strenuous (300 meters of vertical).
The clubhouse and staff are friendly, and the restaurant serves very good food. The terrasse is a great place to recover from Alpine golf.
Absolutely nothing for beginners

I am amazed how beautiful a golf course can be built in the mountains. Even though the holes are not that long, the topography is more difficult. Absolutely nothing for beginners or people with limited conditions. As I experienced myself at the flight before, driving a cart is very dangerous at some holes too. A real challenge but nothing for beginners!

At the reception, the extremely friendly lady told us that the course has an elevation of over 200 meters.
So think about a cart!
This results in many slopes and sometimes confusing holes.
Fairways and greens (very fast) were in very good condition.
Impatient club members (?) behind us were annoying.
(Our 4.05 hours for a 4 ball flight were absolutely OK for 18 holes!

Mountain experience golf

We spent a week in Vorarlberg as part of the Lionstrophy by Harrison Businesswear.
The golf course is built into a slope and is therefore suitable for more sporty golfers.
Some of the courses are spectacular and come with a few surprises when you play for the first time.
The highlight is the halfway house located at the highest point with a very warm welcome and friendly service.
The staff in the restaurant and secretariat are also very friendly and the food is excellent.
For golfers who are not in good shape, a kart is highly recommended.

I played this course before nine years ago in August when it was very hot. At that time, at 36 degrees, the pleasure was somewhat clouded.
So far this year, the summer has been reserved, so this time I had the pleasure of playing this excellent and challenging course twice (alone and in a 4-man flight) in rainy and cool weather.
I not only found my unbelievably fit, 86-year-old flight partner, who played like a world champion and above all putted, but also everything else that provides good, challenging and therefore unforgettable golfing pleasure, I found here. The nice staff, the very friendly members, the beautiful location with a fantastic panorama, the spectacular tees (especially tee 11), the very good condition, the remarkable halfway house and much more simply demand my coming back.

We played the course this September in lovely weather. Clubhouse kitchen tidy. Friendly check-in. We played behind a tournament. The attentive starter let us play with two very nice club members to avoid or shorten waiting times after a tournament. In this respect, we cannot understand the criticism expressed previously. The course is a bit short with 68 strokes, but quite tricky. Well-maintained fairways and greens. Cart is recommended. We would love to come back. At least 4 stars, we give one more star to offset the negative reviews a little.

The course is described several times and everyone who plays it must know that there are about 300 meters of altitude to be covered. The condition was good at the beginning of September, with the exception of the bunkers.
As on any other golf course, you might meet a little less friendly flight partner, but neither on the round nor in the clubhouse did we get the impression that only unsympathetic people could be found here - on the contrary.
