Characteristics
The Golf Club Ausseerland has most likely the most beautifully located and excellently located course in Austria. The courses fit ideally into the natural landscape - a high plateau in the middle of the gorgeous mountainous world of the Salzkammergut. The courses alternate from straight fairways to doglegs, partly hilly, partly even. The 9th hole rewards the golfer with an unique view on the Dachstein Glacier. Our Restaurant "DAS JAMES" awaits you with award-winning meals as well as a terrace and splendid mountain view.

I played this course back in 2002. The views were so beautiful that I forgot how I played. The second hole had a magnificent view of the Dacstein Glacier. There is an interesting walk from the 4th hole to the 5th but what a surprise at the end of the path. Try it, you only live once.

Unfortunately the fairways haven't gotten any better, in fact they've gotten worse.
Greens with some bare spots and unfortunately very slow. The rough is mowed very irregularly, the unevenness of the ground is probably to blame. As a reviewer already reported, the fairways and especially the rough are more like meadow floors. Furthermore, countless molehills are very annoying.
We have seen the place in better condition - unfortunately.
The surroundings and the view are stunning, but golf relies more on course maintenance and unfortunately that wasn't sufficient.

Have played twice in the last few days. Super friendly staff and a well-kept demanding course. Layout unusual but exciting and well signposted. Stunning views no matter where you stand. No rush, you can also play relaxed as a non-professional.
