One of the oldest golf courses of Austria is situated in the middle of green hills, framed by mountainous creeks and ponds in a very interesting landscape with an old stock of trees. The deep blue glittering lakes with theit densely grown shored, the heights and depths of this widespread course and some slopes demand a precise game. The always returning panoramic view provide quietude and relaxation.

A scenic course, interesting and varied. The pro shop staff is very friendly, and the members and players are very nice. So much for the positives. Now for the negatives. Aside from the heat damage from the extreme summer, the course maintenance leaves much to be desired. It shouldn't be neglected like this. The greens are completely unmowed and resemble a forecourt. Some of the pin holes are almost overgrown. And yet, the full green fee is charged. We were fortunate enough to play 2f1 and thus paid half, which would have been reasonable. Particularly unpleasant: because the clubhouse is being rebuilt, there aren't even the most basic necessities like gloves or a cap, no refreshments, and no shower facilities after a round in 36-degree heat. What's especially annoying is that this isn't explicitly mentioned. This will surely improve after the new clubhouse opens, but currently, the facilities are inadequate.
One more thing about the game: I was truly sorry about the condition of the course, because it's perfect for scoring, but you shouldn't get too cocky and hit everything you can. You're almost never standing straight, and the balls tend to disappear quickly on the bone-dry fairways.

We understand that you found the course conditions unsatisfactory. The exceptional heat wave presented us with particular challenges. To protect the greens from lasting damage, we had to temporarily increase the cutting height and suspend mowing at times. As a result, the greens were slower than usual.
The current service limitations are also related to the ongoing construction of our new clubhouse. We understand that this can be disappointing, especially after a round of golf in high temperatures. We will gladly take your suggestion to heart and inform guests more clearly about this in the future.
Regarding your comment about golf equipment, we would like to add that there is a Golf House branch with a wide selection right next to our course. Gloves, tees, and golf balls are also available at our office during opening hours. Drinks and light snacks can also be purchased there. Additionally, there is a vending machine at the 9th tee.
We are particularly pleased that you have recognized the potential and scenic quality of our facility. We would be delighted to welcome you back again once the new clubhouse is completed and conditions are more favorable.

I was a member of the Salzkammergut Golf Club (Bad Ischl and St. Wolfgang) until 2021. A fantastic course, mature trees, friendly people, good food, breathtaking views, and the most beautiful scenery I know in Austria. A top-notch golf campus run by Franz Laimer.
Tip: After the game, take a dip in Lake Wolfgang or the Ischl River and relax. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious drink at the k+k Hofbeisl in Bad Ischl ;-)

I can't agree with g&c's one-star rating, but the course maintenance was considerably better.
The tee boxes are in dire need of renovation, the fairways have numerous bare patches, and the extremely slow greens are a major drawback. Green speed and tracking are what distinguish top golf courses, and this course is currently far from that—unfortunately!
I'm also excited about the new club building. Only about 40 seats inside seems extremely limited to me. How are they going to host larger tournaments there?
