Characteristics
The 18-hole course provides golfers with breathtaking views of the Alpine panorama unfolding above the Starnberg lake up to the Wetterstein-Massiv. The fairways are laid out on partly undulating terrain and are mainly surrounded by a population of old trees. Easy Par-4 holes serve to off-balance the more difficult Par-3 holes. In addition, the public 9-hole course of the Gut Rieden Sport & Freizeit GmbH provide ideal conditions for beginners who want to learn the game.

If you are not a good walker, you should treat yourself to one of the GPS carts.
I recommend this to anyone who really wants to enjoy this wonderful place.

The place is very hilly, almost mountainous...
However, the fairways are very wide and invite you to use the driver!

Very fast greens, great bunkers, even the roughs are very playable.

The clubhouse shines with friendliness, a very nice ambience and cleanliness.

... Offers this place, which you can play on for 20 years - opened in 1991 - a good place with proper terrain transitions. This ensures a bit of fitness and also creates difficulties in the game, although the holes are less than 330 meters long on average. Holes 9 and 16 with hidden greens are cunning.
It's a course that literally calls for the driver, lots of space, no trees to bother you and there are only two holes with fairways bunkers. Full throttle was the motto, we only used smaller blades on three par 4s.
The downhill par 3 - hole 7 - annoyed us massively, there were two centimeters missing for the champagne festival. To stay with the score, we couldn't record any birdies - they were always too short - we couldn't adjust to the speed.
It is a well maintained course, the green bunkers sometimes have a lot of stones.
You can see and feel that the place has to suffer from the weather conditions - drought - tees, fairways and semi wear the tracks. The greens looked good, played well but the speed was too slow.
The location is beautiful with a view of the lake and the mountains, large trees. Parts of the square are very quiet, others are heavily burdened with traffic noise.
Very good birdie book including pin positions.
There are 50 golf courses within a 50 km radius of Munich, a dozen are among our favourites, unfortunately this one is not among them.
All have three stars, with the right conditions you can give four - five are too many for us.

The course presented itself in very good condition, is strongly hilly / wavy and yet easy to master on foot - pure nature. the 18 holes are beautifully integrated into the landscape and are fun to play. Hole 7,8 and 15 are just to enjoy. bunker sand: good. greens: good and fast, but unfortunately hardly undulating (usually flat like a pan).
the place is advertised as a * championship facility *; you would think that it is worth 5 * - that is not the case. There is one star deduction because:
1.80% of the fairways are very wide - there is a lot of variation in them.
2. Between the tee box and the green there are definitely two thirds of the lanes with no significant obstacles, neither natural nor sand bunkers.
3. the greens are simply too flat and too banal (that's the biggest flaw - really a shame)
Nevertheless: the entire infrastructure is coherent, the restaurant on the 19th is quite good and therefore a day of golf at Gut Rieden is absolutely recommendable.
