Characteristics
The golf course of Ptuj is really something special because of its varied terrain and several water hazards. The course spreads over an area of 50 ha and distinguishes itself especially because of greens and sheets of water. The river Studencnica and two lakes accompany 15 of 18 fields. The greens are at one with the old town centre and the authentic fauna and flora harmonises with Ptuj's natural environment.

Pleasant but challenging

Interesting course, with a lot of challenges. Fairways are sometimes quite narrow and are followed by water, which provides a lot of challenge and requires thinking. The hole island is special. The practice and changing rooms could soon be renovated, but they meet the needs. Near a beautiful city, so it's good to leave some time to see it.

Like every year, we played a round in Ptuj again this year. It must have rained quite heavily the previous week, as the course was very wet. Unfortunately, the bunkers were in very poor condition, but that was probably due to the bad weather. Registration is mandatory on weekends. Friendly staff, but the locker rooms are in a container and definitely not ideal for showers.

Based on the previous reviews, we had the worst fears. But it is definitely not as bad as described. The first nine should be played without a driver or only with irons. The holes are short enough to score well without a driver. Tight, tight first nine.
The back nine is great to play and has a very nice layout. The brave can attack the green on hole 10 across the pond.
Conclusion: a wonderful place with a great price/performance ratio.
