Nice, simple ball meadow

Played in June 2020, handicap 12

The front nine of the "Mardorfer" have a very nice landscape (especially at the holes in or in the forest), at the back it is a bit barren, "typical of the country". Overall, pleasantly quiet, no annoying highways, approach lanes or adjacent settlements.

The course has a slope of 137 - but I can't understand why it should be so difficult. At almost 5,900m, it is not overly long, bunkers and ponds can be easily removed from the game and apart from a few narrow Par3s you actually always have quite wide landing zones. A solid base length helps with the many doglegs. The rough is high, but it is quite thin and therefore playable - we found all the balls without any major problems. The greens are moderately undulating, but not particularly large.

The condition is generally good, but some greens are badly bumpy (the grass is blooming). Even on various tees, the "man" had to look for a place where he could stand halfway at the same height as the ball - the tee boxes are not exactly level. "Frau" reported that this would not be a problem on the ladies' teas. After all, bunkers were also badly washed out after the rain the previous evening and during the night, very solid or even home to larger puddles.

A cart is not absolutely necessary, the space is largely flat and the paths between the holes are not exorbitantly long.

Conclusion: I would play the "Mardorfer" again if I am in the area and have grazed all the other places there, it is not worth going there extra. Solid 3 stars. (In the GolfBear ranking: a good 5 out of 10 points.)

Exceptional layout on the Steinhuder Meer

The very large waste areas - partly in the middle of the fairway - characterize this course. We played it on June 22nd. As can be seen from previous reviews, the course is in top condition. In addition, it should be mentioned that there is also a very nice and well-kept short game area. When we visited the greens on the course were pretty quick. In addition, sometimes undulating and cf. big - so 3 putts are not uncommon here. Secretariat and gastro very friendly; Eating good. Overall, a very positive experience.

Perfect golf day

Reception: very friendly, uncomplicated adoption of the Leisure breaks course: very well kept, semi-roughs not too high, roughs high but not too dense, lots of doglegs and some bunker-like waste-areas greens rather slow but spottfast showers: basic but very good clean hole 19: good Italian food in the shady Bergarten Very friendly members who let us play as zweiflight, so that we could play the round in less than 3 hours (!). Perfekt1!!
