The biggest golf course of France with 45 holes is situated only a few kilometres away from the Atlantic Ocean. The 18-hole Lucien Barrière Course has 9 even fairways, the second 9 are more sloping with several water hazards and therefor more difficult to play. The Diane Barrière Dessigne Course has 9 broad fairways and 9 that spin around a lake with 5 ha, good to overlook from he roof of the club house.

We played the red course today and got an extremely mixed impression. The fairways were well-groomed on the open lanes and there was so much tree waste (leaves, needles, acorns, etc.) in the fairway on the somewhat ingrown lanes that it left a rather unkempt image.
