Characteristics
Situated in the hills of the Vaucluse, Golf de Saumane offers stunning views of the Luberon and Alpilles mountains. Designed in 1989 by Jean Garaïalde, this 18-hole course winds through a classic Provençal landscape of pines, olive trees, and rocky escarpments. The layout is technically interesting, featuring 38 strategically placed bunkers and fairway designs inspired by the Canal de Carpentras. A panoramic terrace at the clubhouse provides the perfect setting to enjoy the local atmosphere.

The course doesn't pose any major challenges for ambitious golfers. Except for two holes with water, the course is not particularly difficult. We played in Saumane in October 2024. The condition of the holes varies greatly, some have new tee boxes, some have good, beautiful fairways. Some of the fairways are bumpy and have a lot of foreign grass. The course has a good layout and is exciting. The driving range is very far away and the net, which you can hit some shots into, is in very poor condition. The toilets don't smell good and the changing rooms are a disaster. Not tidy.
