Golf de Sainte Agathe at Neris Les Bains

This is a stunning course with magnificent views of the old railway viaducts and of Montlucon. It is a hilly course and can be quite testing as the ball often ends up either above or below the feet, although the first five holes are relatively flat. A stream runs across or along six holes and there are also four lakes. The par 5 9th can be a little daunting as one drives off the top of a hill with out of bounds all down the right-hand side, whilst the 11th is a par 3 where the green is almost completely surrounded by water. The greens are beautifully kept and although the rough can be unforgiving, the fairways are true. The facilities are good and the staff are most welcoming. Busy first thing in the morning, one rarely has to wait to tee off during late morning or mid afternoon. Overall, an excellent day's golf.

Interesting place

Basically, the previous speakers have already mentioned the essentials about this special place. There are really spectacular tees and a lot of variety due to many confusing doglegs, sloping fairways, especially hole 18 at the end again demands a precise game. The fairways are usually quite wide, which is also useful, because you won't find a ball in the very thick rough. All in all a very interesting place with a fair price and a small but apparently good restaurant. Otherwise rather a simple infrastructure.

Ravishing!

Can only join my English speaker: A delightful place, challenging, difficult to play, but always fair and calculable. It starts quite harmless in the level with 5 holes, which can also get tight. Here you have the feeling to play on a well-groomed goat meadow and adjusts to it.. Great mistake! Afterwards, the hills before Montlucon up and down, some spectacular views and discounts. And as always, you should be playing!
