I have played at Nassigny many times before and have always thought the course delightful. I played there again on the 22nd September 2011 and was very disappointed. The first 7 holes were, as usual, great. They are landscaped into the grounds of the chateau with lots of mature trees, water, and interesting undulations. This part of the course was well maintained. But the next 11 holes were a disgrace and frankly made the 38 euros green fee (not 35 euros as advertised) feel like a rip off. I accept that the very dry summer has made the fairways difficult to maintain but that is no excuse for not mowing the tee boxes which are irrigated and for not mowing around the greens which are also irrigated. Only the greens themselves were in reasonable condition.

As my predecessor has correctly noticed - the first 7 holes are worth at least 4 stars with well-maintained courses and super-maintained greens (the well-groomed greens are valid for the whole place), Bahn 8 is trapped between road and railway line and then follows a road on the road To the lanes 9 - 18. Just who wants to play only 9 holes then lands after the 9th hole far from the clubhouse. Here are the fairways through the high summer heat (we played in August) hard and dusty (my tip play with winter teas)
