Friendly golf

I played Massane several times in the last few weeks and also took some excellent lessons from Jean-Marc. The course is open, well-kept, reasonably long and quite simple. The greens are quick and in good shape. It is quite a busy course but when not in a hurry can really have an enjoyable round of golf. The Mediterranean breeze helps to cope with the sun and general high temperature in summer. The course maintains very green despite the drought. Most special is the David Leadbetter golf school and I never received such good coaching. With a handicap just below 12 I usually find that pro's try to mold you to their style before teaching you anything. It's different here. A quick assesment including video analysis helps to prioritize what needs to be worked on and then only one thing gets "improved". The next lesson checks progress with this (training recommended) and then a new thing gets improved. Wonderful. So worth going their and enjoy the pleasures of Montpellier and this golf course.

Greens and fairways were in very good condition, but the bunkers had cracks half a meter deep, almost gorges, due to the violent storms of the previous weeks. Better laying was therefore sometimes difficult. It is very positive that the office is open at 7:30 a.m., the service staff is very friendly. The resort has undergone a change of ownership, it is being rebuilt and invested, so no restaurant or swimming pool can be used until further notice. A food truck offers food and drink up to 6:00 p.m. Since there are no other restaurants within walking distance, this is a disadvantage. Overall conclusion: you should have played the course once, it's fun!
