We regularly host "open tournaments" that are also accessible for non members. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Velderhof!
We also invite all golf beginners to participate in our "beginner tournaments" - the only prerequisite is a "Platzreife" certificate from a golf school (showing that you know how to hit a ball and basic rules). This will give you the opportunity to get to know tournament golf in a very relaxed setting together with other golf beginners.

Restaurant Velderhof is out in the country side, located in one of those brick-built farmhouse squares that are so typical for the Rhineland area. The restaurant, which is about 20 minutes away from Cologne and Dusseldorf, is open to the public and offers an excellent setting for good quality, wholesome food - often sourced directly from regional producers in the vicinity and always prepared on the spot.
The inside features a charming setting in the old horse stables or a magnificent view into nature in the larger pavilion overlooking the park and golf course. When the weather is nice, expect two large terraces inside the courtyard and outside the pavilion respectively.
Whether for just coffee and cake on a Sunday afternoon, a nice evening menu with your loved ones or as a location for a family or company event, the lovely staff will always try their best to provide a most excellent experience.

Played on October 4,2026, red/green course. The club, with its 27 holes on the western edge of Cologne, used to be better. My wife was a member there until last year and always raved about its excellent condition. So we went to Velderhof again recently and were disappointed. On the red course, the fairways were overgrown with weeds, and the greens weren't really playable due to numerous holes – either fungus or old pitch marks. The tee boxes were also very worn. There was also damage from wild boars in several places. On the green course, the greens were perfect, and the bunkers were filled with fresh, bright white sand, but the fairways were rutted. For all this, they charge a hefty €95 on weekends. The rather busy-looking employee in the pro shop didn't mention this. The pro shop office, which used to be staffed by two employees on weekends, was closed. Thanks to the Golfamore card, we received a 50% discount, so it was fine for us. However, I would have been dissatisfied if I had paid the full green fee. At least they no longer charge a surcharge for guests without a hologram. On the other hand, guests are no longer allowed to play at certain times. Oh, and instead of using the simple PC caddy system for booking tee times, there's a separate system that requires prior registration. In the early afternoon, the bins in the restroom at the first tee (yellow tees) were overflowing, and the paper towels for drying hands were gone. On a positive note, the renovations on the green course and the fact that almost all members greeted us politely, which wasn't always the case before, are worth mentioning.

The course is in excellent condition. This applies to the lush green fairways (thanks to irrigation). I can't comment on the greens, as they had just been aerated. The bunkers had some very uneven sand levels. Furthermore, the fairways were extremely wide. The only place you could lose a ball was in the water hazards. The course layout is best described as back and forth. Many holes are located next to each other, separated by a row of trees. Therefore, I found the layout rather monotonous and couldn't really remember individual holes afterward. The only real challenge was the rather strong wind, which I hadn't expected.

A very beautiful, well-kept area away from any hustle and bustle. The clubhouse is stylish, the restaurant appealing. The pro shop is great and the driving range is small but sufficient.
The places are very well maintained. No matter what combination you play, every hole is in excellent condition. Unfortunately, all holes are at ground level and only moderately exciting. Therefore only 4 stars. If you were to come up with something to increase the fun of playing with embankments or similar, it would be 5 stars.
