Characteristics
The course is situated in the province Verbania at the shore of the Lago Mergozzo and offers magnificent views on the nearby Alps. It consists of 9 normal holes par 68 and 9 executive par 27, which are considered very interesting to play since the fairways are interrupted by different little lakes and alder forests. The course is especially suited for beginners.

Nice short course

GC Continental Verbania - Par 61. Is for in between.
Actually a nice place that is more difficult than you initially think. The pitch was a bit deep, mainly due to the heavy rain in the days before. Stupid even if the red and yellow water markings are not in front of the water but IN the water 💦 😏 Nevertheless, the course was reasonably easy to play. Presumably he would have heard but another day blocked.
There is no clubhouse. Just a small wooden hut for the reception.
You can play it for fun, but you don't have to.
The course will soon be converted into a PAR69 course. That can still be something 😊

At the end of September 2022 the condition of the place is pitiful. Tees from either artificial turf or weeds. Half of the fairways broken, turf washed away or destroyed by wild boars, the greens partly unplayable for a third. You could attribute it all to the weather and hope for improvement.
However, the new round concept makes no sense at all. A short 9-hole course used to be nice to play and a pitch+putt course with 9 lanes around 100m was good for beginners or for training. Both courses are now combined into 18 holes, which means that neither beginners nor advanced golfers have fun playing.
We have played the course more often in the past. If the concept stays that way, we won't be coming back.

If you expect a large course with appropriate lengths, want to improve your driver game or expect a clubhouse in the style of a villa, then it is better to avoid this course. We, on the other hand, were very impressed by the short round in between during our hiking holiday.
The secretariat, like everything else, is housed in a barrack that looks rather makeshift. We received a friendly welcome and the employee could understand and explain everything in English. You have to know that, contrary to the current information at 1golf, the concept has changed insofar as the holes of the former short course have been mixed with those of the larger parcous. So if you only play the first 9 holes, you will first play 5 very short par 3s and when you pick up the momentum it's over. The only par 5 is now 13 and the 9 longer holes are played from 6 to 14. You can play all 18 holes in under 3 hours and practice your iron strokes very well. There are some water hazards that make the otherwise flat fairways varied. Of course you can complain a little about the maintenance status and the acoustics are not perfect everywhere (street, train, quarry), but you can simply subtract a point and simply enjoy the rest. Or you can play in Ascona or Losone for € 120 and more green fees instead of paying more than a fair € 35.
