Characteristics
The Championship Golf Course is laid out in a magnificent natural surrounding: more than 7000 trees including centuries-old oak and beech trees, a well-kept lawn and the storks wandering on the field. The 18 holes, harmoniously integrated in the over 85 hectares of grounds, are very playlable, funny and technically challenging. Designed by John Herris, Marco Croze and Fulvio Bani, the golf course is a Par 72.
The Villaverde Golf & Wellness Academy has a modern approach that combines technology with a variety of instructional programs wich enhance our clients' overall quality and well-being. The Swing Studio is equipped with FlightScope, BodiTrak, SAM Puttlab and V1 for the perfect training.
The Villaverde Hotel & Resort Wellness Spa & Golf is about 300m away and reached via a bridge linking the Resort to golf course.
The region Friuli Venezia Giulia offers different landscapes: from the Adriatic see with sandy beaches or rocky coasts, to the hills and the mountains. A place of multiple flavors, thanks to its famous wines and its food.

Over the past few years we have enjoyed coming to Villa Verde to play golf. It is a beautiful park. We always have fond memories of this course. This year we are dismayed for the first time! There must obviously have been a change in management or philosophy. The course is not easy anyway... Always challenging and fair in the past. Over the last few days we have really had to battle against adverse conditions. Rough and fairways extremely high - hardly any balls found in the rough... There is grass everywhere - mown at some point - just like on the fairway. There is no need to repair divots anyway because mending divots in the rough is not necessary. That's how it felt. Bunkers stale or dried out and worn out without being raked afterwards.
Greens were very modest. We had to really push. What happened here? The flag positions were ridiculously set as if it were a PGA course... Unfortunately, none of it suited us. We won't be playing again in the future, which we very much regret.

We've played this course several times over the past few years... it's a beautiful park... the restaurant and the hotel are top-notch... This year the course was a huge disappointment... the first day, nothing was mown, the second day, we didn't see a greenkeeper... robotic lawnmowers leave everything standing for too long... and there's endless clumps of grass. The course is more than challenging even for us frequent players due to these conditions!!! It's a real shame. What could have happened that they cut back so much on mowing?

The renovation was worth it. A beautiful parkland course in the hills of Udine. Fairways are very good, thanks to robotic lawnmowers that operate even in the rain. Greens are too slow and bunkers are too compact, likely due to persistent rain.
