Who are we?
We are the Golf Club Ortenau eV, the oldest Golflcub Ortenau with the topographically stunning golf course in the region.
We are idyllic, family, warm, refreshingly different!
What do we offer?
A wonderful sport in a beautiful countryside, no matter if you just want to play golf just for fun, or a sporty minded golfers want or be.
The place gives the impression that since year and day include a golf course for the cultural landscape Black Forest. The golf club is understood to be connected to the surrounding forest or involved courtyards Black to form a unit.

Mountain hike with golf luggage

Admittedly, the place can't handle the heat. We thought ahead and booked a cart, because you don't necessarily go hiking when it's >30 degrees. The course is located in a very beautiful valley, but lanes 1-11 are very hilly, with a lot of inclines and you almost always play into the mountain or down steeply. Lanes 12-18 are flatter, there are also slopes, poorly signposted for those unfamiliar with the course. The greens were aerated and sanded, very uneven and unpredictable. You could have said that at reception. The fairways are still somewhat acceptable if I'm very natural and the tees are not acceptable, some with mats.
A very nice welcome, we actually wanted to stay one night in our motorhome and I accepted the friendly offer to use the showers. The motorhome parking space is in a nice and quiet location at the end of track 8, unfortunately in a natural biotope covered in flowers that attracts a lot of mosquitoes. That's why we left early in the evening and, despite the very friendly reception, we probably won't play this course again anytime soon.

The course is idyllically situated in a typical Black Forest valley. The first ten holes nestle against the mountain slopes and are difficult for average golfers who are not familiar with the area to master. The remaining tracks are flat and easy to play on. The greens are good, the fairs and tee boxes are ok.
The secretariat is very good, the food is average at best.
There are more worthwhile railways in the region.

A very sporty place. If you are not good on foot, a cart is definitely recommended. The first 11 tracks are very hilly and there is a lot of ups and downs, the rest are in the valley and are more relaxed. Nice restaurant with an outdoor terrace and the food was delicious. A second restaurant is right next to the parking lot and also has a beer garden and the food is also very tasty. There is a parking space for mobile homes with electricity about 300m from the clubhouse and we were able to use the shower and toilet.
