One of the most beautiful golf courses in Schleswig-Holstein is embedded into the park of the Altenhof manor with its population of old trees and its undulating landscape of fields, meadows, and forests. This peaceful oasis is only a few minutes away from the Baltic Sea. The club rooms offering a refined cuisine are located in a side wing of the manor.

I played this great course on 6/8-22, and i was blown away There are so many beautyfull holes, and great nature I realy hope to come back another time

Right near Eckernförde, which is a surprisingly interesting small town.
Not much happened during the week.
I was injured, so I used a cart which wasn't so bad, since it goes up and down quite a bit.
After green number? you have a steep drop-off with a view over half the course. Hole 1 starts off tough because there's a large oak tree blocking the fairway for both the first and subsequent shots. The par 3s are challenging. The aforementioned green, the par 3 hole 8, was beautifully hit with an E6. Yes, it's close to trees, uphill, left-handed, and has an undulating green. Otherwise, the fairways are wide. The restaurant (see picture) is like a castle park, and at half price, it's a wonderful place. And to top it off, an excellent Sauvignon Blanc from the Palatinate.

This is the second year in a row that we have come as green fee guests to Golfklub Altenhof with a group. Unfortunately, we experience exactly the same thing again this year in the morning.
It is probably the only golf club in all of Europe where the greenkeepers have not learned to work counter-clockwise on the course. This means that as a player you see each greenkeeper once during the round – and not, as we experienced, having the same greenkeeper driving ahead of you and accompanying the group through seven holes in a row at almost every tee.
It is extremely disruptive to the game and takes a large part of the joy out of the round. Therefore, I unfortunately cannot recommend green fee players to start their round in the morning at Golfklub Altenhof.
