Characteristics
A modern golfing destination near the historic city of Alcalá de Henares, Encín Golf Hotel bears the distinct signature of architects Von Hagge, Smelek & Baril. Opened in 2011, this 18-hole Par 72 course features wide fairways and strategically placed bunkers, but the true challenge lies in the expansive, highly undulating greens that demand a deft touch. With views of the Santos de la Humosa, the facility includes a massive driving range with 100 tees, a high-end restaurant, and an integrated 4-star hotel, creating a complete resort atmosphere.

Hotel & Golf
Reviewed October 21, 2026
We stayed at the El Encin Hotel. The course has a somewhat links-like feel, even though the fairways have overly thick grass. The modern design, set in an open and windy terrain, requires some getting used to. Most of the greens are elevated, similar to links courses, and often run diagonally across the fairways, defended by bunkers and rough.
You need a really good day to achieve a halfway decent result.
I thought El Elcin Golf was great!
