Durham City Golf Club

Durham City Golf Club holds the distinction of being one of England's oldest inland clubs, originally founded in 1887. Its current home at Littleburn, opened in 1974, is a classic parkland course beautifully laid out along the meandering banks of the River Browney. The terrain is gentle yet demanding, characterized by tree-lined fairways—such as the silver birch-framed 7th—and subtly sloping greens that test putting skills. Strategic water hazards play a key role, particularly at the 10th, affectionately known as "The Pond Hole," and the 3rd, where the river curves around the fairway. The club features excellent amenities, including a clubhouse with a restaurant that overlooks the course.
