Characteristics
Situated on the outskirts of Dumfries, the Dumfries and County Golf Club offers a refined parkland experience steeped in history. Established in 1912, the course was originally laid out by Willie Fernie and later enhanced by James Braid, who added his signature bunkering. Although measuring just under 6,000 yards with a Par of 69, the layout is deceptively challenging, defined by lush tree-lined fairways and blind tee shots that demand precision. A standout feature is the quality of the USGA-standard greens, widely praised for their consistency. Designed in two distinct loops that both return to the clubhouse, the course concludes near a welcoming dining room that offers panoramic views over the final hole and the rolling landscape beyond.

Everyone is assured of a warm welcome from our catering team. Our menu’s are updated regularly and we have some “County Favourites” that are available all year round. Please click here for our current menu. Members & Guests can enjoy dining in either the lounge or dining room with a view of the 18th hole and surrounding hills.
