Characteristics
Founded in 1884, Crichton Golf Club is a historic gem situated on Bankend Road in Dumfries. The current 9-hole parkland course, designed by George Templeton in 1970, offers a deceptively challenging round despite its modest length. Set on undulating terrain, the course features tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy and strategic placement. The layout climbs to a high point at the second hole, rewarding golfers with panoramic views across the town, while the steep banks of the fifth hole, known as 'Galloway's Finest', test the short game. The experience concludes right in front of the clubhouse, home to Club Bar 1, where visitors can enjoy a meal in a welcoming environment.
