Most demanding greens

Played on January 22nd, 2024 like most courses in Dubai at the highest level. Fareways, bunkers and greens were in perfect condition on this day!

We stayed at Dubai Hills in May 2023, the staff is 5 stars as with all places in Dubai. The course is actually in very good condition, but it was not a good experience. 80% was with construction sites in the background which is not a factor for me however there was a smell of sewage and burnt oil all over the place. The cartpaths are badly marked and there were many cartpaths that led nowhere. The course is extremely easy to play and relatively boring.

Played on 3/16/2023. The 18-hole course is just outside the metropolis behind the E44 motorway. The signs to the golf club could be better. You drive through a guarded driveway past a residential area to the parking lot in front of the modern and sophisticated clubhouse. If you want, you can bring your bags under the clubhouse beforehand and drop them off at the bag drop off. The ladies at the front desk were friendly. The cart was ready with the start time. However, the cart had its quirks on the round. At first the parking brake didn't do it, then the cart said 2 x on the round, although you were on the cart path, that you were driving on the green or in the sand and refused to continue driving. A marshal had to help. The square itself has many large waste areas. In addition, some bunkers and a few water hazards, a classic, flat resort course without major highlights, two elevated tees are quite nice. The condition was perfect, the greens very fast. However, what was absolutely annoying and actually permanent, were the many construction sites next to the fairways. When everything is finished, it will certainly look great, but not really pleasing at the moment. On the other hand, some free-roaming gazelles that can be seen next to and on the fairways are very nice. We booked a start time via the TroonApp and paid the corresponding discount (book 7 days in advance) €110 green fee including cart with two small bottles of water, GPS and range balls. Game operations on a Thursday afternoon were lively. There were no completely free starting times, so there were also a few three- and four-man flights with the corresponding playing time. There are refreshment stations with toilets on the circuit and water can be tapped at every second lane. In the clubhouse there are one or two restaurants (not used) and very elegant and spacious locker rooms. Overall, you can play here, but you don't have to, mainly because of the construction sites at the moment it's more of a second choice.
