Quite a good golf course. Quiet, very green, surrounded by forests. Hilly.
Fairly wide fairways.
Elevated landscaped greens. Many greens cannot be seen. And well defended by bunkers. Also sometimes has water hazards.

The Dortmund Golf Club has a gently undulating course that can be easily mastered on foot. The fairways are framed by mature trees and are quite wide, so that mistakes on the tee are forgiving, especially since the rough is also mowed short. The condition is extremely good, the mostly large and undulating greens are well maintained, fast and stay on track. In terms of layout, the course has a lot of straight lanes, some water hazards and bunkers, which can usually be avoided. A pronounced strategic game is therefore usually not necessary, only the precise approach of the greens influences the score. In addition to the always very beautiful surrounding landscape with a view of the Hohensyburg, I remember lane 3, a par 3, which was designed to be visually very challenging, and lane 5 with a slight dogleg and a very nice water hazard.
More hanging fairways come into play on the second 9 holes, so shots must be placed well. Here I particularly liked hole 14 with a slight dogleg and strategically well-placed bunkers, here you can think carefully about the risk you want to take on the tee in order to shorten the line to the green. The reception in the secretariat was very friendly and the service in the restaurant was also very good. The beautiful view from the terrace over three fairways and the Hohensyburg in the distance made for a nice conclusion. Overall, for a relaxing round on a very well-kept course for €60 green fee, absolutely recommendable.

A very nicely laid out golf course with sufficient practice opportunities. Unfortunately, the fairways were not so easy to play on due to extreme drought and game damage, but they were. Greens in very good condition. Overall, an interesting place with a beautiful clubhouse that you should definitely visit after the round.
