Bute Golf Club

Bute Golf Club, PA20 9PF Kingarth, Isle of Bute, UK

Characteristics

Founded in 1888, Bute Golf Club offers a glimpse into the origins of the game as the oldest course on the island. Located at Kingarth near Stravannan Bay, this 9-hole seaside layout provides spectacular views of the Sleeping Warrior on Arran. Although relatively short, the course presents distinct challenges, including a tricky approach over a stone wall and a burn guarding the third hole. This 147-yard par-3, played directly along the shoreline, is a highlight where missing the green can be perilous, demanding precise iron play amidst natural hillocks.
