The course, designed in 1926 by six-time Open Champion Harry Vardon, traverses gentle terrain known for its scientific and geological interest. The layout provides a fair test for all abilities and boasts panoramic views of the North East coastline. The experience is complemented by the clubhouse, a converted 19th-century residence that offers a warm, traditional atmosphere for post-round relaxation.
