Characteristics

Berehaven Golf is situated 5 kilometres from Castletownbere on the Glengarriff road. It is located in one of the most scenic area in west Cork on the shores of Bantry Bay with the Caha mountains in the background. It is a very testing 9 Hole course but because of different tee positions the back nine are completely different holes. The 7th is a dog leg par 4 around by the coast and then over an inlet of water to the green. The 8th and 9th are both par 3's over water and it would be very difficult to find better closing holes anywhere in the world. The overall lenght of the course is 5121m with a par of 68. Par for the ladies is 70.

Here you learn to play over the water

Through various deductions is a challenging 18 hole course from a 9 hole course. Something often difficult to find the appropriate deductions and lane 3 and 12's as blind shot over the access road and the ambience around the clubhouse leave 5 stars not - so plenty of criticism. At 6 tracks we played the green of the sea - that's already insanely fun when it lost some balls. A special challange: track 7 or 16 with 2 x Dog leg over the water - that has something special. In summary a must to play here.
