way overpriced and overrated

yes, tricky to play and some beautiful views but the standard is not there, where the price tag is. at ballybunion i have first time seen a t-box 10 meters behind a short par-3-green, without a protection of any kind. one is basically "on target". also starting management was a desaster, because the "official starting watch" was about 10 minutes delaied... result: we were late...
while mentioning this problem, answer was: "happens regularly, but who cares..."
well golfers care, especially on a fully booked golf course.

In a nutshell: the dream of every links golf enthusiast that has become a reality - two hammer courts of the very finest!
Dunes, tall grass, views of the wild Atlantic. Hidden Par3s - blind blows between the high, overgrown hills, ... Wonderful neat, very fast, badly bent greens. Golferherz, what do you want more!?
As so often in the Irish squares, greets - right at the beginning - a small cemetery from the fairway edge of the "Old Course". Unfortunately, a few of its railways also run along a low but quite ugly terraced housing estate. Therefore - tradition or not - I liked the "Cashen" course a little better than the "Old".
For the "Cashen" a cart is recommended to all those who do not want to ruin their joints on these hardy, hilly places - on the "Old" no carts are allowed, so you have to "crawl" ...
Conclusion: Yes, I give 5 times! The concentrated charge top left is simply overwhelming. Definitely play, even if the seats are not really cheap (according to website currently EUR 230, - for the "Old" and 80, - for the "Cashen" - in the package it's a little cheaper). For this, on the "Old Course" still a compulsory caddy per flight is due, which costs another 80, - plus tip. But that's also worth it - we would have lost without "Willie" for well over 80, - balls. (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 9 out of 10 points for the "Cashen" and 8 for the "Old Course".)
