The region of Emilia-Romagna takes its name from the "Via Emilia", the ancient Roman road which connected Rimini to Piacenza, from the Adriatic Sea to the large plains of the north, passing through seaside towns, lagoon landscapes, ancient medieval villages, offering the most beautiful scenes of castles, hillsides, towers and abbeys.
