The Course does not have temporary tees or greens and only closes for frost so is playable all year round. A perfect setting with a welcoming clubhouse to enjoy a drink and some food after your round.

Cornwall's oldest course, dating back over 100 years. The course wasn't built for modern golf clubs and balls, making the entire game a huge adventure. It's like an F1 race on the Nordschleife. The course was well-maintained, and the greens were typical left-hand greens (not quite as fast, but true to the track). The course only becomes clear after playing several times. Basically, left is right, although you mostly don't see the balls land. Overall, we found the windy, sunny day extremely exciting, but not ideal for a deeply relaxing round of golf.

For us as HCP 30.9 & 35 it was the first time that we played such a links course.
Very challenging because the lanes are very close together and sometimes you can't tell which lane you are on.
Furthermore, the partial blind shots on the tracks are another challenge.
It's interesting if you don't hit hole 8 (blindshot) correctly, you can play through the adjacent graveyard.
An additional highlight of this place is the train, which drives past the place every 15 minutes and can wave to the passengers on the train at tee 11.

I (Hcp 11,5) played the course with my wife (Hcp 15,5).
Greenfee 40 pounds, e-trolley 10 pounds. The condition of the fairways was good, the greens very good (good track and not too fast) but just a typical left course with z. Tl. Higher rough. We bought a Birdie Book for safety, which was worth it because the descriptions of the tracks were quite simple. In addition, some tracks had to be played blind. A nice challenge.
Outstanding is the location of the place overlooking the water, just fantastic (especially in the sun), especially interesting the church and the cemetery, both sometimes only meters away. Lovely also the train, which drives like the Hogwart Express on the edge of the place.
The big downside are the tracks that are parallel or even intersect, or where the greens are in possible tee-offs. This increasingly clouded the fun and the concentration on their own game has increasingly suffered.
In summary, it was a great day of golf in an environment and topography that you do not find every day.
And Remember: the place is the oldest in Cornwall: from 1895!!
